Known for her warm presence, deep musical knowledge, and commitment to both education and Jewish heritage, Hanna has left an indelible mark on her students and audiences alike.
Born into a family where music and tradition were deeply woven together, Hanna's love for Jewish music began in early childhood. She pursued formal training in vocal performance, piano, and music theory, quickly discovering a gift for teaching and connecting with others through song.
For more than three decades, Hanna has served as a guiding light for Jewish music education in her community. She has taught hundreds of children and adults in schools, synagogues, and community centers, instilling in her students an appreciation for the beauty and depth of Jewish musical traditions, from ancient melodies to contemporary compositions. Her classroom is known for its nurturing environment, high standards, and innovative approaches that make learning music joyful and meaningful.
Hanna is also an accomplished performer. She has graced countless celebrations, holidays, and communal events with her music, using her voice and piano to enrich everything from Shabbat services to weddings and special occasions. Her repertoire spans traditional zemirot, liturgical pieces, Yiddish and Ladino folk songs, and original works, always tailored to uplift and connect her audience.
Beyond her teaching and performing, Hanna has been an active leader, organizing choirs, holiday concerts, and intergenerational music initiatives designed to build bridges within the community. Her legacy is felt not only in her own performances but in the music carried forward by the many students whose lives she has touched.
Above all, Hanna Bick Azoulay believes that music is a sacred thread, weaving together identity, community, and memory. She continues her work with undiminished passion and dedication, inspiring new generations to find their own voice through the power of Jewish music.
